EECS now has 1 lab of workstations available to students in Stocker. They are in room 307 on the 3rd floor of Stocker. This lab is generally open 24 hours a day, except for a small period of time when the custodial staff will ask everyone to leave for cleaning. Please note that the cleaner you keep these rooms, the less time they need to be closed for cleaning.
The machines in 307 are named bin00001, bin00010, etc. They are the highest quality Sun workstations we have for student use. The computers are Sun Ultra 45 workstations, with 1.6 Gig Hz processors, 1Gig of ram, a 3d video card. The displays are 19 inch LDC displays, or 24 inch LCDs. All home directories are mounted from prime.
The default printer for the machines in room 307 is named s-hp307. To allow printing of documents greater than 10 pages, up to 100 pages in length (or the remainder of your print quota) use the printer name s-hp307nc.
Room 303 in Stocker has been decomissioned as a lab, the computers, printer and network devices removed. The room is now being used as a private research lab.
