odd13.cs.ohiou.edu% cp /home/cs425/lectures/lec01.ps.gz . odd13.cs.ohiou.edu% gunzip lec01.ps.gz odd13.cs.ohiou.edu% lp lec01.ps request id is 6 odd13.cs.ohiou.edu%
The results will appear on the printer in room ??? (if someone knows, please email me with where the default printer is) by default. It is possible to print to other printers, please ask someone familiar with Unix for help. Repeat the above steps altering the lec01 to lec02, lec03, ... to print the other lectures notes.
To see what files are available use the ls (listing) command of Unix.
odd13.cs.ohiou.edu% ls /home/cs425/lectures lec01.ps.gz lec02.ps.gz lec03.ps.gz lec04.ps.gz syl.ps.gz odd13.cs.ohiou.edu%
Note: you should feel free to remove the files from your account after printing them out to save disk space. To do this simply type:
odd13.cs.ohiou.edu% rm lec01.ps odd13.cs.ohiou.edu%And the file is gone.
NOTE: to view postscript files on prime/p1/p2 or the newer bin00001, etc. machines, you can use the ggv program. You don't even need to uncompress the lecture, you can simply type:
bin00001% ggv lec01.ps.gz
And you can view the lectures on any solaris machine. To get them to
appear rightside up, use the view menu and choose landscape, also you
might want to choose size letter under the view menu as well.
Note, ggv can print pages using its gui interface as well.
